Mozart Dinner Concert
the unique Mozart experience in Salzburg • since 1996
By visiting our performance, you will be taken back to Mozart's time. Enjoy an evening likely to have taken place in 1790, in the candlelit Baroque Hall, with a dinner based on historical recipes and a live concert performed by two professional opera singers and five instrumentalists, all in authentic costumes.
Their voices and music bring Mozart's time to life exactly as it was meant to be heard, without microphones, in a room built for this kind of sound. And this music is most important to us. We celebrate it. Every single evening!
Dinner and concert take place in the outstanding acoustics of the historic Baroque Hall of St. Peter, located right in the heart of Salzburg. The Stiftskulinarium St. Peter looks back on 1200 years of tradition and was first documented in the year 803. The Mozart family themselves dined here, as recorded by Nannerl Mozart in her diary in 1783.
Today, the two opera singers and five instrumentalists of the AMADEUS CONSORT, established in 1996, perform arias and duets from Mozart's great operas "The Magic Flute", "Don Giovanni" and "The Marriage of Figaro". The famous first movement of the serenade "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" rounds off the programme.
Dinner is a modern interpretation of historical recipes from Mozart's time and consists of three courses. The concert is performed in three parts, each following a course of the dinner, after all, the music should not be disturbed by feasting... To every art form, its moment.
